What does your Behavior have to do with your Faith?

I am sure a lot us are God fearing and read the word on the daily basis and we consider ourselves to be “good” Christians, but do you know your behavior ties directly to your faith?

For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

I Corinthians 1:21

In 1 Corinthians 1 : 21 you see that your behavior is so important it can separate you from God. Which is extremely significant because GOD is the only one who can bring you closer to him, being the ultimate entity in all of the universe.

Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives

Even though this scripture is talking to wives in their relationship to their husbands it is a great example of how important our behavior is when it comes to our walk with God:

  • Obeying GOD is the proper way to win people over
  • Strive to be attractive internally and spiritually
  • GOD should be glorified through your actions

In 1 Peter 3:16, Peter goes more in depth to how important it is when it comes to our actions with regard to our faith: ” …. keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.” This scripture illustrates the significance of our behavior when it comes to the word and our relationship with God, leaving us with three points:

  • Keep your mind clear of sinful desires in order to serve GOD
  • It is better to suffer by serving GOD than doing bad
  • Your behavior should reflect GOD in your life
