In our walk with God we are bombarded by distractions and temptations constantly. We have to consistently re-engage ourselves to what initially drove us to want to have a life with God and turn away from the path we were previously travelling. It is crucial to have a clear understanding of who Jesus is, what he means to us, and how he impacts our lives.
The true Son
In our faith and walk with the Lord, understanding Jesus is the true son of God is paramount. Obviously this is a matter of faith, but believing Jesus was the son of God who sacrificed hisself for our sins makes a big difference in the way we lead our lives and approach each day. If Jesus is just a prophet, or a fictional character propagated by political figures of the past, then how we handle temptation and our daily burdens will not have the same power and conviction than if we approach our obstacles with the belief that the man who we call Jesus is the true son of God who was sent to free ourselves from the bondage of sin
“… for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.” Roman’s 4: 24-25
Jesus Rose From The Dead
There are times in our spiritual lives that our perspective on who is Jesus can be limited and distorted. Who Jesus is, and amazingly the fact that he rose from the dead, is the most significant part of our faith. This is why we become born again, profess to put to death our former selves because we believe Jesus who died was resurrected. Yes, this is a matter of faith but if you wholeheartedly believe this to be factual then the way you view life and live your life, will be based with the foundation of this amazing good news. If this is something that you question, as far as validity to Jesus resurrection; then this is where prayer to God to open your heart and mind, and divulging yourself into the word is the ultimate key. For the bible say faith comes hearing the word in Roman’s 10: 17: “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.”
In conclusion, our Christian, Godly, and spiritual lives are for the majority, influenced by the way we examine Jesus. Who and what Jesus means to us permeates in our convictions or lack there of. Seeking God for direction and instruction, is always the key in determining what Jesus means to you.
