It’s all About Your Faith

In our walk with God, we have our ups and downs. We are constantly bombarded with temptation and our faith is put to the test, time and time again. It is through this faith, that our lives are built. Faith in God, and his word is paramount when it comes to living our fulfilled lives

What do you want GOD to do for you? It is true God takes care of us even though at times we are quite stubborn. Yet we have to seek God with reverence, and humbly through prayer, continually. The following verse in Mathew 20: 20- 34 explains so:

Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down, asked a favor of him. “What is it you want?” he asked. She said, “Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.” “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them. “Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?” “We can,” they answered. Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.” When the ten heard about this, they were indignant with the two brothers. Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so l with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave– just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Two Blind Men Receive Sight As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him. Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when l lthey heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked. “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.” Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.

In Luke 18:1-8 Jesus gives a parable on why it is important to be persistent when you seek God, to come to him but also to continually seek him …

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, Grant me justice against my adversary.'”For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, Even though I don’t fear God or care about men, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually wear me out with her coming!’ ” And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off ? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

Ask God for your desires. This is extremely important, so often in life we go chasing our Dreams and try to build a list of accomplishments without going to God first and asking for his direction. Here are a couple of scriptures that make a reference to that point –

You want something but don’t get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. – James 4:2

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” – Matthew 7:7

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” – 1 John 5:14

Remember in our spiritual walk with God, faith is important for us to lead our lives to its full potential. We must believe in our God, our father, that he will provide and the we must go to him continually asking for guidance and direction in our daily lives

What do you want?

As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!” When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they replied. Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith will it be done to you”; and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this.” But they went out and spread the news about him all over that region. – Matthew 9: 27-31
