Answer: Hello Tommy, traffic is such a crucial thing when it comes to having a successful website. One of the most important and cost effective ways of doing such a thing is by getting your website into the search engines. Having your website listed on the top of Google, Yahoo, and MSN will bring to you hundred of visitors that are also targeted to your content.
Search engine marketing can be composed of the following:
(1) Content
Building content is one of the most aspects of building website traffic and to get the search engines to notice it. Continually updating your website will bring visitors back to your website again and again. Search engines place website who often update with high esteem and so it is important that you do continue to add content on a regular basis. In addition to, having a lot pages indexed by the search engines allow you the possibility of receiving a lot of traffic that you probably didn’t intend on receiving because of various terms that would be indexed by the search engines. So, just imagine if every page you had received one hit a month, then if you had 10, you would receive 10, now imagine a thousand then a thousand a month.
(2) Links
Links is also very important. The amount of links you have and the reputation of links you have plays a big role in where your website is placed in the search engines. Link building isn’t easy it is something that takes time but even though, the outcome is beneficial. Try not to build links just for the sake of links but try to build links to your website that you know will bring some traffic to your website (at least one visitor). Over time links will add up and so will your traffic.
(3) Sites Architecture
Having a manageable site that the search bots can go through easily will also help you. Having a site with too many broken links can look unfavorable on your part. Having poor site structure and minimal site access can also really affect your site negatively. Having a sitemap can be very beneficial for these issues.
(4) Time
It takes time to get the position you need for your website so don’t get upset if you dont see site ranked highly immediately. Having a website with high rankings can also take time if your in a very competitive market. Set minor goals overtime, like having a 100 links, or 100 pages of content. Step by step you will eventually get to the point you dreamed of. Remember, the most important step is consistency.
